Hamilton Ski Slopes Lost To Time
From the 1960s to 1985, Hamilton Slopes is where many learned to ski. Before that, you could ski at Seminary Hill for a quarter.
HAMILTON, MA – Like small airports and carnival grounds, ski areas across the country have been lost to time and development. The New England Lost Ski Areas Project documents memories of those ski slopes, where many locals cut their teeth.
Using contributed memories of people's favorite lost ski areas, NELSAP paints a picture of ski history in New England.
Two ski areas detailed in the project were right down the road in Hamilton. Seminary Hill, which one reader said operated from after World War II into the late 50s and charged a quarter for a half day of skiing. Another reader said it had a lift, but was eventually forgotten in favor of Hamilton's other lost ski area: Hamilton Slopes.

According to NELSAP, the slopes were off of Moulton Street and boasted two rope tows, four slopes, and two trails by 1971. It was nicknamed "the bump," according to two readers.
