Hamilton-Wenham School Update

Nearly half of the customers in both towns are still without power.

HAMITLON, MA — About 2,000 National Grid customers in Hamilton and Wenham were still without power as of 11 p.m. Monday night, according to the power company. That number was 1,457 in Hamilton and 555 in Wenham.

Whether or not school was in session Tuesday after being canceled Monday was still being decided Sunday night. A final decision was to be made Tuesday morning.

There is still no estimated time of restoration, and National Grid said earlier in the day that restoring power around Massachusetts won't be finished tonight. Other towns in Essex County currently were having a much worse time of it - 94 percent of neighboring Topsfield, 99 percent of Boxford, and 88 percent of North Andover were without power.
