Louis A. Tarricone: Beloved Family Man, Avid Golfer and Traveler, Lifelong North Shore Resident
Services for Tarricone were held Saturday.

Louis A. Tarricone, 90, of Wenham and Beverly, son of Anthony D. and Theresa (Mazza) Tarricone, passed away on Jan. 18, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was the loving husband of Edith (LaMarca) Tarricone. Lou was a life-long resident of the North Shore, having lived in Beverly for over 45 years, and in Wenham for the past 13 years. In his early years, he enjoyed spending time with his brothers Jimmy, now deceased, and Ralph Tarricone of Lake Worth, FL. Lou also adored his grandfather who helped raise him, and enjoyed growing up on the farm in Wilmington, the home of the Baldwin apple.
After an early graduation from Wilmington High School, Louis attended the Pennsylvania Maritime Academy and in September 1944 began serving in the U.S. Navy. In the South Pacific during WWII, Lou served as Ship’s Engineer of the USS Pyro, an ammunition ship and later the USS Donner. He attained the rank of Lieutenant JG before transferring to the naval reserves, where he served until the 1960’s. He was quietly proud of his military service, and pleased to learn that he was enrolled as an honorary member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans, which he visited a few years ago. Following his service he had a long and distinguished career spanning more than three decades at The Badger Company in Cambridge, MA. Lou was proud of his work at Badger managing the design and construction of large chemical plants all over the world. In the mid-sixties Lou led Badger’s new Tampa, FL office for a couple of years-a time the entire family remembers fondly.

Lou’s greatest joy was his family. Lou married Edith in 1949 and together they spent 66 years creating a wonderfully full and happy life. Lou was especially proud of his eight children, twenty-one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren for whom he was known as their beloved Papa. He enjoyed travel, particularly to Bermuda and Florida, where he owned a winter escape in Lake Worth.
An avid golfer, Lou enjoyed all aspects of the game. He held memberships at Lucerne Lakes in Florida, The Thompson Club, and most recently at Wenham Country Club. Remarkably, over his career, Lou shot four holes-in-one at three different courses. He often coached the golfers in the family about the importance of the short game.
Lou was a sensitive and caring man, guided by his faith. He was a faithful parishioner at St Mary’s in Beverly. Lou made friends easily and had many wonderful friends with whom he and Edie enjoyed playing cards or going on golf trips.
