New Business Personalizes Gifts For Everyone
This local woman started the business of her dreams six months ago.
HAMILTON, MA – This is part of Patch's series on Small Business Saturday. This year, consumers are again asked to “Shop Small” on Saturday, Nov. 26. Have a small business in Hamilton or Wenham? Tell Patch!
Six months ago, Angela Arvanites left a 14-year career in project management with a large corporation to start her small business, having dreamt of making the leap since the birth of her second child five years earlier.
"Corporate life was draining the life out of me and I decided it was finally time for a change," said Arvanites. With the support of her family, she launched AMonogramShop.com. She personalizes all kinds of items like tote bags, lunch bags, cosmetic cases, and baby bloomers with monograms, names, and graphics.

She sells some of her collection at a shop at Todd Farm in Rowley called Serendipity, and Hamilton residents visit her at home to shop the full inventory and design a custom monogram.
"Recently, I've had several customers come to me to shop their corporate gifts for them," said Arvanites. "They provide a price range, the recipient's name and something about that person and I set about choosing an item or two and coming up with a fun way to personalize it."
