Not Fighting Alone: Fundraiser To Support Local Family
Just two weeks after fostering to adopt a 6-month-old boy, a local family found out their father had advanced cancer.
GLOUCESTER, MA – This January, a 36-year-old Gloucester man was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cancer. Aaron Heyer and his wife Heather had just fostered to adopt a 6-month-old baby boy to a be brother to his 4-year-old boy when they got the diagnosis.
Heyer lost his battle to cancer on Mother's Day this May, but not before they were able to finalize the adoption by Aaron's bedside at the hospital. Friends and family are holding a fundraiser on July 24, at the Cruiseport Gloucester to show their support to the family, and help provide for the future of the two Heyer boys, Bryce and Max.
The fundraiser will include a DJ, hors d'oeuvres, raffles, and a silent auction. Tickets are $20 for admission; and 50/50 tickets are one for $10, and three for $20.
