Obituary: Ida V. Maione, 94, Great Grandmother to Seven

Ida V. (Bertone) Maione 94, beloved wife of the late Alphonse Maione, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at the Blueberry Hill Health Care Center in Beverly.

Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Gesidia “Cecelia” (Giannatouia) Bertone. She resided in Hamilton for many years before moving to Peabody.

A devoted wife to her late husband and mother, Ida had a love for cooking, sewing, crochetting and needlepoint, spending time with her family and playing Bingo and cards. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Munroe of Lynn, a son, John Maione of Ipswich, four grandchildren, Donna Veara of Lynn, David Veara of Essex, Debbie Poretta of Salem and Angela DiFazio of Beverly, seven great grandchildren, Breanna Glidden, Haley Goneau, Jack Goneau, Lauren Jamieson, Derek Chigas, Taylor Veara and Brian Veara, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Anthony Maione and Mary Ann Ronan and pre-deceased by six siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Burial in the Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton.
