Route 1 Fatal Crash: 24-Year-Old Dies
The man's Toyota Prius collided with a dump truck Friday morning.
ROWLEY, MA — A 24-year-old Dedham man is dead after his car crashed into a dump truck on Route 1 Friday morning.
Rowley Police Chief Scott Dumas said police responded to the crash at the intersection of Newburyport Turnpike and Central Street around 8:15 a.m. Responding officers found a 10-wheel dump truck and Toyota Prius had collided.
Responders tried to rescue the driver and lone operator of the Prius, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The operator of the dump truck was not injured.
Route 1 was closed in both directions for hours. Authorities said they expected it to be reopened around noon.
