Severe Commuter Rail Delays After Person Possibly Struck on Tracks

Buses are replacing part of the Newburyport Line and severe delays are possible Wednesday morning, after the MBTA says someone may have been hit on the tracks.

A bus is being deployed between Hamilton/Wenham and Ipswich, where the incident occurred. Passengers on directly impacted trains may be delayed an hour or more, according to the MBTA.

The Rockport Line to North Station is not impacted at this time, the MBTA said.

Update, via @MBTA_CR: "Newburyport Train 160 (7:55 am from Newburyport) is operating 55-65 minutes late between Beverly and North Station and is making all stops."
