"Shrek the Musical" Coming to Weld Pingree Theatre - 3 Shows Only

“Shrek the Musical” opens at the Weld Theatre at Pingree School, 537 Highland Street, Hamilton, for three rousing performances only -- Friday and Saturday, December 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday December 16 at 2 p.m.
An Entr’acte Theatre production, the musical promises to be one of the hottest Christmas tickets in the region!
The production, which follows the adventures of the cantankerous ogre-hero named Shrek and his loyal companion Donkey, is based on the Shrek films franchise, which were among the most successful animated movies released between 2001 and 2010.

The story of Shrek follows an unlikely hero – an ogre -- who wants only to be alone in his swamp but is beset by fairy tale characters exiled there by the villainous Lord Farquaad. To win back his swamp, Shrek and his sardonic sidekick, Donkey, must rescue the Princess Fiona from her lonely, dragon-guarded tower and deliver her to Farquaad, who wants her for his bride. In true fairy tale style, there is a curse, which can only be broken by a true love’s kiss, and the inevitable lessons about embracing one’s own true nature and how it’s what’s inside a person that really counts.
