Town Of Hamilton National Grid Share 1,800 Workers Deployed, High Winds Could Hamper Repairs

On Tuesday morning, March 2, National Grid said exceptionally high winds continued to take down trees and wires across Massachusetts, including in Hamilton. The company’s largest service disruption involved transmission line outages impacting 7,800 customers in Dracut and Andover.

National Grid said it deployed more than 1,800 personnel in New England as part of its emergency response operations for the “Type 4” event.

“As we continue throughout the day, we expect some areas of our service territory to be hampered by safety protocols that limit our ability to raise bucket trucks and surveillance helicopters in high winds,” the company told town leaders in a statement. “We will continue to update our outage map with progress.”
