Waring School Announces Plans for New School Building

Beverly's Waring School has announced plans for a new school building, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2020

Waring School has announced plans for a new school building, scheduled to break ground in a few months and open in the Fall of 2020.

This new building, designed by GO Logic/OPAL architects from Belfast, Maine, will be Passive House – a cutting edge, European model of energy sustainability that eliminates upwards of 90% of a building’s energy expenditure. Their time-tested energy models promise that this brilliant, Waring-tailored, community-inspired design, will achieve Passive House benchmarks of energy use, positioning Waring to be the first Independent School in Massachusetts to certify a Passive House building.

This new building was conceptualized on Waring’s philosophy of community, mixed age-experiences, a school-wide commitment to sustainability, and the centerpiece of Waring’s day-to-day experience: our All-School Meeting. The new meeting space will now soar centrally over Waring’s current entry courtyard, a space encased in glass, facing out onto the quad. The interiors are thoughtfully laid out, with beautiful light, space, and meandering hallways that twist through the woods, bridging lower and upper campus, with built-in reading nooks along the way.
