Wenham Police Offer Advice On Tipping For The Holidays
Wenham police want to make sure the tips you give sanitation workers and mail carriers get to them and not a thief.
WENHAM, MA — In the spirit of giving, many people will be tipping their neighborhood sanitation workers and mail carriers for the holiday season. Wenham police want to make sure resident's good intentions aren't thwarted by scheming thieves.
The department warned residents to try giving the holiday tips in person instead of leaving them out for collection.
"In the past it was common practice to tape an envelope to the trash barrel lid for the trash collector or to leave an envelope in the mailbox for the mail carriers," the department said in a Facebook post, "Unfortunately, thieves are aware of this practice and are stealing the cards."
