Woman Killed In Apparent Shark Attack In Southern Maine

A woman was killed in what is believed to be a shark attack off the coast of Southern Maine.

The woman was swimming just off Bailey Island in Harpswell when she was attacked by what Maine Marine Patrol said appeared to be a shark.

Officials said the woman was brought to shore by kayakers. She was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Her identity has not been released.

Swimmers are being told to use caution in the water.
