Despite Recent Gains, Hingham Home Prices Remain Under Pre-Recession Prices

Despite gains over the last few years, home prices in Hingham have yet to return to their pre-recession prices.
According to data compiled by the Boston Globe, Hingham has seen a decrease of 1.50 percent in median home prices from 2005 to 2014, but a 4.80 percent increase between 2011 and last year.
In 2005, the median home price was $665,000, before dipping to $625,000 in 2011. The median price increased to $655,000 last year.

Locally, Milton has seen median prices recover from the recession with median prices increasing 10.53 percent from 2005 to 2014. In the same period, Braintree is down 5.19 percent and Weymouth is 8.12 percent lower.
