Originally the second Hingham High School, the building at 210 Central St. that now serves as Town Hall was built in 1927 and is nearly 79,000 square feet on three stories.
The total property is valued at $14 million, according to Hingham's Assessors Online Database. This compares to $8.4 million for Hingham Public Library and $24.4 million for Hingham High School.
The 6.56 acres that Town Hall sits on is valued at $1.54 million, while the building itself is worth $12.3 million. Extra features and outbuildings add up to another $180,000.
The price of replacing the building would be above and beyond the current value, according to the assessors. They peg the replacement cost of Town Hall at nearly $16.4 million.
