Benefit EARTH Bash at Southwick Zoo

EARTH Ltd. is the nonprofit arm of well-known Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon, MA. Its mission is to provide animal education programs and support global conservation efforts. EARTH Ltd. was founded in 1999 and offers a variety of entertaining and educational programs including Junior ZooKeeping, Wild Adventure Summer camps, rhino encounters and the in-school mobile outreach ZooMobile program.

“Only through education and increased awareness will people will be inspired to help protect our planet, the animals and their habitats,” says Betsey Brewer, executive director of EARTH Ltd. Brewer has traveled far and wide on behalf of the cause, and says she’s trying hard to teach current and future generations about the long-term effects of not taking care of our Earth. “Many people think that supporting species of wildlife, maintenance of ecosystems and communities, and rhino conservation don’t impact their everyday lives, but issues like poaching, the destruction of the rainforests, and not keeping a lid on pollution do make a difference,” she adds. “Not only does our environment suffer, but so does our global economy – when animals are being killed for their skins, horns, tusks, or other parts.”

To help fund these initiatives, EARTH Ltd. is hosting its 10th Annual Benefit “EARTH Bash” on June 20th. This event features an exclusive, after-hours tour of Southwick’s Zoo that includes a “Poker Run,” great live entertainment, a silent and live auction with items such as; a Safari adventure in South Africa, a trip to Napa Valley and a private rhino encounter at Southwick’s Zoo. This event is the largest EARTH Ltd. fundraiser of the year and is sure to be a fun, exciting night of celebrating our planet.
