Brush Fires 'Hot' in Hopkinton: Police
There were two brush fires in Hopkinton on Tuesday.
HOPKINTON, MA - Two brush fires broke out around Hayward Street on Tuesday, police said.
At about 2:30 a.m. strong winds knocked down a tree which in turn took down some power lines on South Street at Hayward Street, police said.
The fire burned brush over about a quarter of an acre of land but there was no further damage, according to police.

A second brush fire happened at 77 Hayward Street a little bit after noon when ashes from a wood stove or similar appliance were carelessly discarded, police said.
