Cedar Street To Be Closed for Construction this Weekend

Area residents who travel Route 85 from Hopkinton into Southborough should be seeking alternate routes this weekend as construction continues on the bridge at the town line.

A press release from the Hopkinton Police Department says Cedar Street (Route 85 from Main Street to the Southborough line) will be closed starting at 8:30 p.m. Friday and continuing through 5 a.m. Monday.

A detour will send residents through Ashland and into Southborough, although the route is significantly longer than using Route 85.

Local traffic will be allowed to use Cedar Street, including residents, Hopkinton State Park visitors and patrons of Carbone's restaurant.

Officers will be on hand throughout the weekend to assist drivers.
