Coronavirus: Hopkinton Closes Fields, Parks, Playgrounds
Hopkinton has nine confirmed cases of coronavirus, four of which have recovered.
HOPKINTON, MA — Hopkinton parks, fields, playgrounds and town buildings are closed to limit the spread of the new coronavirus. Hopkinton has nine confirmed cases of coronavirus, four of which have recovered.
"Our most recent cases fall within the 20-29 age range - however, as testing increases, more cases may be identified in our town," the town said in a statement.
Following Governor Baker’s previous emergency order from March 23, only designated
businesses and organizations providing “COVID-19 Essential Services,” such as grocery stores,
pharmacies, and restaurants offering take-out or pick up only remain open. All non-essential
businesses, retailers, and organizations are closed to workers, customers and the public.

"Community spread is now occurring throughout Hopkinton, and we will likely see more reported cases in the coming days," the town said in a statement. The town is urging residents to stay home and follow social distancing guidelines when out grocery shopping or at essential businesses.
Starting on April 6, Hopkinton Public Schools will start it's mandatory virtual learning model.
