New studies are showing that smartphones are keeping us in a constant state of stress that can have serious consequences on our social lives, anxiety levels, mental health and general well-being. Parents, teachers, and community members are invited to this event that will examine the challenges and potentially dangerous situations that may arise through use of the Internet, social media and smart phones. Following Joani Geltman's compelling presentation on cell phone addiction at the end of January, this workshop will explain the issues and possible consequences from cyber bullying, sexting, and revealing identifying information to strangers. It will pay particular attention to popular apps, social media sites, and programs used by youth online.

Camila will be joined by local chiropractor Howard Goldberg, to discuss postural effects of being always-on. Howard will offer some basic exercises to combat postural defects caused by the forward head position to use a cell phone, and join a panel with Nurse Practitioner Darlene Vittori, Officer Bryan DiGiorgio, HPD, and Lieutenant Chad Thompson, HPD to answer questions you may have on this issue.
