Drag Racing Reported on Lowland Street, Lake Winthrop Barge Runs Ashore

Thursday, July 4

2:28 a.m.: An officer removed a couple from Pleasure Point.

3:35 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Highland Street. Police are seeking a summons to charge the driver with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

4:16 p.m.: A caller reported pieces of a floating barge that had washed ashore at Pleasure Point.

9:00 p.m.: Officers spoke with residents of Stoneybrook Drive, Hargrave Avenue, Kathryn Lane, Briarcliff Lane, Cutler Heights, Prospect Street and Mohawk Path regarding fireworks.

Friday, July 5

6:40 a.m.: A caller reported a person sleeping in a silver car downtown. An officer spoke with the person and learned that they were waiting for the antiques store to open.

7:14 a.m.: A caller from Westfield Drive reported that street signs had been removed and placed in people’s yards.

8:48 a.m.: An officer took a report of stolen solar lights from a yard on Temi Road.

Saturday, July 6

3:26 a.m.: A caller from Bogastow Brook Road reported someone setting off fireworks on the side of his house.

6:27 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Washington Street. Police are seeking a summons to charge the driver with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a valid registration.

Sunday, July 7

2:14 p.m.: A caller from Old Sawmill Road reported a possible break-in.

Monday, July 8

7:11 a.m.: A caller from a business in the Lowland Industrial Park reported that the parking lots were being used for racing and that there were excessive tire marks.

Tuesday, July 9

6:16 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle that was dragging an inflatable raft down Highland Street.
