E.coli Found In Holliston Water Supply
E.coli is a fecal indicator and was found in a test of the Holliston water supply recently.

HOLLISTON, MA—The town routinely monitors for the presence of drinking water contaminants to make sure the water supply is safe.
On Aug. 9, the water system was notified that a water sample collected on Aug. 7 from Well #4 tested positive for E.coli, which is a fecal indicator. Fecal indicators are used to detect ground water sources that may be susceptible to fecal contamination that may contain harmful viruses or bacteria.
The well was immediately taken offline when the town received the E.coli result.
