East Main Street Closed Following Car Crash

Hopkinton Police are still on the scene of a crash on East Main Street where a telephone pole was snapped causing wires to drape across the road.

The road is currently closed from Frankland Road in Ashland to Frankland Road in Hopkinton. Travelers are being detoured down Frankland Road in both directions.

According to the Hopkinton Fire Department one person was hospitalized after the crash with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash, which occurred near the intersection with Cross Street, caused power to be knocked out to some houses in the area. Residents may experience temporary outages while repair work is completed throughout the afternoon.

While detouring traffic around the crash a tractor-trailer hit and snapped a utility pole at the corner of East Main Street and Woodland Road. Woodland is also closed while crews repair the damage.
