Election 2020: How To Cast A Mail-In Ballot In Holliston
Patch has details on early voting, mail-in voting and in-person voting for the Massachusetts state primary on Sept. 1.
HOLLISTON, MA — The Massachusetts state primary is Tuesday, Sept. 1, but the election will be much different this year, thanks to the coronavirus. This year voters have the option of voting in-person on election day, as well as early voting and mail-in voting options.
The last day to register to vote for the Sept. 1 primary election is Saturday Aug. 22. You may register to vote online or in person. If you are unsure of your registration status, you can check online.
Vote By Mail
Holliston sent postcard request forms to all registered voters. As of Aug. 13 the town mailed out 3,153 ballots to Holliston voters. To request a ballot, complete the request form and return it to the Town Clerk’s office either by mail or use the drop box. Once a request is made, you can track the status of your application and ballot.

The deadlines for mail-in ballots are below:
- Primary Election - All ballots must be received at Town Hall by 8 p.m. on September 1st
- Last day to request a Vote by Mail ballot is August 26, 2020
Early Voting
In-person early voting for the Sept. 1st state primary will be held August 22-28. In-person early voting for the November 3rd state election will be held October 17-30 including Saturday and Sunday (location and hours TBD).

August 22: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.—Upper Town Hall, 703 Washington Street
August 23: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.—Upper Town Hall, 703 Washington Street
August 24: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.—Upper Town Hall, 703 Washington Street
August 26: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.—Upper Town Hall, 703 Washington Street
August 27: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.—Upper Town Hall, 703 Washington Street
August 28: 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.—Upper Town Hall, 703 Washington Street
In Person Voting, Day of
Remaining 2020 Election dates are as follows:
Voting will take place at Holliston High School, 370 Hollis St.
- State Primary September 1st 7 a.m – 8 p.m.
- State Election November 3rd 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
