Holliston Residents Help Police Solve Local Crimes
Two crimes in the past month have been solved with the assistance of non-police department members.

Holliston Police Chief John Moore recently sent out a letter thanking residents for their increased vigilance in crime solving.
In early May a resident told Fire Chief Michael Cassidy about suspicious activity that had occurred in the area of a home break-in.
“This became the lead that ultimately led our detective unit to those we feel are responsible, and the filing of criminal charges,” Moore said.

A second larceny occurred earlier this month when a person was stealing car parts from a business on Washington Street.
Officers were able to use video surveilence footage that had been captured by the business owner to help identify and charges against the individual police believe to be responsible for the thefts.

“Police Officers today have many tools and their own experience and expertise that aide them in carrying out their law enforcement function; But even with these advantages they can always use the information of those that observe what took place, suspect what might have taken place, or make available what did take place,” Moore said.
As always, Moore encourages residents to report any suspicious activity to police.
