Hopkinton Youth And Family Services Offer MLK Day Programming

Programming will be offered throughout the weekend to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.

HOPKINTON, MA — Hopkinton's Youth and Family Services is hosting a weekend full of events to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.

Throughout the weekend, Hopkinton Youth and Family will host story times and crafts for kids as well as talks and viewings of movies to honor and remember the civil rights leader.

On Sunday, the Hopkinton Freedom Team in partnership with HYFS to host a talk on Unity by Hyppolite Ntigurirwa. The talk will be available for viewing anytime and will be featured as well in the Islamic Masumeen School program on Sunday. The HYFS warned that the talk contains some sensitive content related to a 7-year-old child's experience during the Rwandan genocide.

The Founder of the Natick Freedom Team, Jamele Adams is speaking through Westborough Connects on Love, Inclusion, and Trust from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

The Youth Commission is hosting a storytime and craft for kids on Monday at 10 a.m. as well. The event will be a live reading of Magic Trash: A Story of Tyree Guyton and his Art along with live craft. Erin Graziano of Hopkinton will be reading the story and leading youth ages 5-12 in an art project of their own. Registration is required.
