Hopkinton's Carbone's Restaurant Stays Open For A Bit Longer

Although the restaurant announced its closure in September, it's staying open until the owners can find a buyer who can keep the restaurant.

HOPKINTON, MA — A beloved Hopkinton restaurant will keep its doors open for a bit longer after residents thought it was closing.

Carbone's Restaurant has been a Hopkinton staple for 87 years, so when the owners announced its closure in September, the community was reeling. The Carbone family, the owners of the Italian-American restaurant, hoped to sell the restaurant to new owners within a few months but never set a hard date on the closure.

On the Friday after Thanksgiving, the restaurant posted on its Facebook page that it would "remain open Mondays-Saturdays 4-9 p.m. for safely distanced dining and takeout." Community members rushed the comments, asking if this meant Carbone's Restaurant was here to stay, but owners replied, "Ideally we would like to sell the restaurant as a restaurant in order to facilitate this we must remain open. Stay tuned!"
