Local Special Olympics Athlete Prepares for 2015 World Games
Hopkinton resident George Kent participates in Golf Training Camp at host venue in Los Angeles

On Tuesday, February 17, in preparation for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, Bank of America hosted a Golf Training Camp for Special Olympics athletes from the United States and Canada at Griffith Park’s Wilson Golf Course. Local Special Olympics athlete George Kent from Hopkinton received unique access to the host venue to prepare for the World Games, and an opportunity to train alongside PGA Tour Professionals.
Webb Simpson, Russell Henley and Ben Crane were on-site to conduct a golf workshop and provide pointers to the Special Olympics golfers along the course. Additional support was provided by Special Olympics golf coaches, as well as Bank of America local employee volunteers.
Bank of America is an official partner of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, taking place July 25 – August 2 in Los Angeles. The Games will feature 25 Olympic-style sports in venues through the Los Angeles region, and will be the largest hosted event by the city of Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games. Leading up to the World Games, the Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America presented by Bank of America will bring a message of inclusion and respect across all 50 states over 46 days.
