Main Street Closed to Eastbound Traffic This Week

Travelers are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

Construction will be beginning on Main Street in Hopkinton this week, and due to road width constrictions traffic flow will only continue in one direction temporarily.

Travelers heading eastbound through Hopkinton are advised to find separate routes for the next week.

The Department of Public works has suggested the following routes:

  • East bound Main Street (Route 135) traffic will be detoured at Pleasant Street traffic will directed southerly on Pleasant Street.
  • Traffic wanting to access the center of town or turn north on Route 85, for the Southborough Commuter Rail, will be able to turn left at Grove Street.
  • Traffic wanting to continue east on Main Street. (Route 135) will cross Grove Street and turn north on Hayden Rowe Street to return to Main Street (Route 135) by the town common.
  • People coming from the south that take 495 - suggest they get off at Exit 20 - Route 85 in Milford and take into town on Hayden Rowe Street to get to Main Street. 
  • People coming from the north that take 495 or the Mass Pike should consider getting off at Route 9 exit 23 and going east to take Route 85 south in to the center of town.
  • People coming from the west of town should consider trying to avoid coming east bound in to the center of town and bypass by using Lumber Street. to Granite to Hayden Rowe St.
  • People traveling from the east of Hopkinton will not be detoured, as the westbound lane will remain open.
  • Everyone traveling through the center of town during should expect delays and should seek alternate routes.

All business on Main Street will be open during the construction; however parking may be limited on a day-to-day basis.
