Juror Lynn Peterfreund is a core faculty member of Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, MA, and has
been working as a painter, printmaker, and art educator since receiving her MFA in 1980 from Pratt
Institute. Her work reflects her interests in both representational and abstract art. Peterfreund’s most
recent bodies of work are monotypes and intaglio prints that employ a vocabulary of forms based on years
of working from observation of nature, still life and the figure. Her work is included in hundreds of
public, private, and corporate collections. Her mural work can be seen in hospitals, schools, bookstores,
museums, and homes in western Massachusetts and beyond.

Monotypes and monoprints are developed through a process that produces unique, one-of-a-kind prints,
unlike etching or woodblock which can create multiple originals. The Monotype Guild of New England
is dedicated to the art of the unique print and is a national nonprofit organization that fosters
understanding and appreciation of monotypes and monoprints. It sponsors exhibitions, workshops, and
other special programs for its members and the public.
