The following residents of Holliston and Hopkinton have died in recent days.

Alice Marie Phipps, 72, of Holliston, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a 10 year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late William and Mabel (Bonin) Serocki. She was the wife of 48 years to William Richard Phipps of Holliston.
James Edward McKenzie, 55, of Natick and Formerly of Hopkinton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Jimmy will be missed not only by his family, but also by his loving caretakers and roommates at The Rutledge House in Natick; as well as his caretakers and co-workers at TILL in Hudson. He was well-liked by all who met him and will be remembered for his smile, good nature, and sense of humor.
Kathleen J. (Higgins) Brown, 70, of Milford formerly of Holliston passed away Tues. July 9, 2013 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of Louis M. “Lou” Brown Sr. Mrs. Brown had been employed at Dennison Manufacturing in Milford for over 35 years before her retirement. Kathleen was born April 17, 1943 in Holliston the daughter of the late Harvey G. and Muriel (Turner) Higgins. She was a graduate of Holliston High School, Class of 1961. Kathleen was a volunteer at the Milford Regional Medical Center, and was a receptionist at the Atria Draper Place, Hopedale and Golden Pond in Hopkinton. She enjoyed walking and was a former member of Women’s World and Perfect Shape gyms both of Milford. She was also a member of the Faith Community Church of Hopkinton. She enjoyed vacationing at Mayflower Beach in Dennis and enjoyed gardening.

Anne Marie “Nanci” Goguen, 68, of Holliston, passed away at her home on Monday, July 8, 2013. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Anne (Root) and Thomas J. Kelley. She was the wife of Richard L. Goguen of Holliston. Anne Marie was a high school graduate of Sacred Heart in Springfield, MA and a College graduate of Our Lady of Elms College. She received her Master’s Degree from Framingham Sate University and was a Science teacher at St. Bridget’s Middle School in Framingham. She was the Assistant Director of the Christa McAuliffe Challenger Center at Framingham State University. Nanci especially enjoyed her grandchildren, family and traveling.
Donald William Brisco, 80, of Hopkinton, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. Born in Soldiers, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Maude (Lehman) and John Brisco. He was the husband of Anna Maria (Morteo) Brisco of Hopkinton. Donald proudly and honorably served his country as a Marine from 1953-1961. He was the Vice President of Operations at The Fair Department Store for 22 years from 1973-1995.
