Police Investigate Rope Swing, School Bus Crash

Monday, May 20
9:46 a.m.: An officer investigated a report of assault and battery on Forest Lane.
12:19 p.m.: A caller reported vandalism to the pump station on Overlook Road. The caller said glass beer bottles had been smashed over the property.

12:33 p.m.: The Animal Control Officer responded to a report of a large turtle in the road on Pond Street.
2:04p.m.: Two school busses were involved in a crash on Hayden Rowe Street. No injuries were reported.

4:04 p.m.: A caller from Stagecoach Way reported that multiple vehicles were parked in front of his property that belonged to people at a nearby rope swing. The Department of Conservation and Recreation was notified and said they would deal with the rope swing.
4:58 p.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with an alarm investigation on West Elm Street.
Tuesday, May 21
7:57 a.m.: Two vehicles were involved in a crash on West Main Street. One vehicle was towed but no injuries were reported.
3:26 p.m.: An officer assisted the State Police with a car crash on Main Street.
7:16 p.m.: An officer assisted the fire department with a fire caused by lightning on Wildlife Drive.
9:01 p.m.: A caller reported a drunk female walking on West Main Street with a cooler. Officers responded and spoke to the woman. At the same time the woman’s mother went in to the Hopkinton Police Department to ask for her daughter to be removed from the house. The daughter was taken in to protective custody.
10:24 p.m.: A caller from Elizabeth Road reported that her car was on fire in the driveway. By the time emergency responders arrived the caller’s garage had also caught fire.

1:02 p.m.: A caller reported that the driver of a maroon vehicle almost hit her on Ash Street. The caller said the male driver with brown hair, braces and a thin build said he needed to get to school.
3:36 p.m.: A State Police trooper was looking for a person in Hopkinton who caused a serious crash on the Mass. Pike then fled the scene.
5:50 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a crash on Hayden Rowe Street. At least one person was hospitalized.
6:40 p.m.: An officer served an arrest warrant to Jamie E. Taft, 37, of 12 Water St., Milford. Taft was charged with operating without an inspection sticker, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, operating without a license and operating with defective equipment.
11:39 p.m.: A caller reported a car crash on South Street. Police responded and arrested Fabian G. Zhumi, 34, of 17 Chauncy St., Westborough. Zhumi was charged with drunken-driving, possession of an open container in a motor vehicle, negligent operation and unlicensed operation.
