Temporary Closures To Route 16 In Holliston

HOLLISTON, MA — Route 16 will be temporarily closed at the Holliston/Sherborn town lines starting on Monday.

An emergency culvert repair project caused the closure and is expected to take a few days. Detours will be in place but Holliston police are asking commuters to plan alternate routes to avoid traffic backups.

Here are the details of the closure to plan ahead:

Starting Monday, the eastbound lane on Route 16 will be closed and detoured right at Whitney Street bearing left to stay on Whitney Street, on the Sherborn end, left onto Western Avenue and then right back onto Route 16 in Sherborn. ⁣⁣

The westbound lane coming from Sherborn will be closed and detoured at Western Avenue to Whitney Street in Sherborn which turns into Eliot Street in Ashland. Commuters will have to turn left onto Route 126 at Shaws and continue south on Route 126 toward Holliston to get back onto Route 16.
