Whitehall Artisans 3rd Annual Open Studio Tour

Come to the Whitehall Artisans 3rd Annual Open Studio Tour on Saturday, April 28th from 10 until 4. Ten artist and artisan studios in the Whitehall area of Hopkinton will participate in this year’s tour, sharing their artwork and explaining their techniques and the creative processes used to complete their pieces. The event is a once a year opportunity to see inside the studios of local artisans and to purchase a wide variety of fine artwork and beautiful handmade crafts. View Celtic inspired pen and ink drawings, spot delicate birch bark and pinecone pieces in handwoven Appalachian baskets, and watch wood being “turned” into bowls and vases. Oil and watercolor paintings, color-rich pastels, fabulous wheel-thrown pottery, amazing torch-made glass jewelry and elegant wood and stone sculptures are also on the tour. Some of the artisans will be providing demonstrations of their craft. William Moser, a sculptor on the tour who shares his vast array of tools as well as his knowledge, hopes that “such a wide variety of art will be enjoyable and educational for students (and their parents) who may want a have a closer relationship with the arts in their future.” Whatever your reason for attending the tour this spring, you can be sure that plenty of inspiration will be awaiting you around Lake Whitehall.
