Woman Arrested After Attempting to Run Over Pedestrian

Wednesday, May 15

5:09 a.m.: A resident reported a tree down on East Main Street. An officer found the tree at the Ashland Town Line and was able to remove it from the roadway.

8:44 a.m.: An officer assisted the Boston Police Department at the Hopkinton Town Common. Several walkers were following the Boston Marathon route.

1:31 p.m.: An officer removed a basketball hoop and broken backboard glass from the roadway on Church Street.

2:02 p.m.: A caller reported that a man had just stopped at his house on Jackson Street and spoken to his daughter about a landscape quote. The family did not have an appointment with a landscape company. Officers were able to match down a TruGreen solicitor who matched the description given, but he said he had not been at that house.

3:40 p.m.: A 911 caller reported that a woman was actively trying to run someone over with her car on Hayden Rowe Street and Holt Street. Officers attempted to speak with the victim, although no one answered the door. A short time later a caller reported the same vehicle speeding. At 4:21 p.m. an officer found the vehicle at the victim’s house, although the victim was not home. Kelly A. Love, 38, of 40 Prospect St., Ashland was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, drunken-driving, negligent operation of a vehicle and marked lanes violation.

Thursday, May 16

8:33 a.m.: A vehicle rear-ended a white school bus on West Main Street. No injuries were reported.

9:09 a.m.: A caller from Lumber Street reported that his cat was stuck in a tree. The cat climbed down before the Animal Control Officer could respond.

3:36 a.m.: A caller from East Main Street reported that her back door had been kicked in. Officers responded and confirmed that there had been a break-in. The incident is currently under investigation.

5:29 p.m.: The Hopkinton Police Department assisted the fire department with a fire on an island on Lake Whitehall.

5:36 p.m.: A caller from East Main Street reported that a driver had crashed in to his stone wall. The vehicle in question was towed from the scene.

9:10 p.m.: The Animal Control Officer took in a loose Jack Russell terrier.
