108.6 Inches of Snow: This Winter Snowiest on Record in Mass.

Light snow on Sunday dropped 2.9 inches on Logan Airport—pushing the season total to 108.6 inches and breaking the old record (107.6) set in 1995/96.

The snow has wreaked havoc on the region, shutting down the MBTA, causing roof collapses, and forcing school officials to cancel classes—sometimes for as many as seven days.
It’s also produced some wonders— giant icebergs washed up on Cape Codand a photographer in Nantucket captured nearly frozen waves.

And winter isn’t over yet—more snow is in the forecast Tuesday and Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The first day of spring is Friday.
