3-Alarm Fire In Egleston Square
Firefighters are working to put out a fire on Washington Street.
BOSTON — A three alarm fire is out and no one is injured, but some 40 residents are displaced after a fire ripped through a multi-story Washington Street building in Egleston Square just before 5 p.m. When firefighters got there they saw heavy fire from the back of the building that had apartments in the upper floors and businesses on the ground level.
Officials estimate the damage at around $1 million. Firefighters said the damage extended to nearby 17 Weld Avenue.
The roads nearby were closed as crews work and traffic is being rerouted.
