74 Boston high school students complete rigorous summer program

Boston University Upward Bound helps Boston public high school students in prepare for college year round

During the summer, students took rigorous academic classes; prepared and delivered team presentations on civic engagement; met weekly with mentors; and performed community service – all while staying on Boston University’s world class campus for 6 weeks. The Boston University Upward Bound participants were from five target high schools, including English High School and Margarita Muniz Academy in Jamaica Plain. Students also live in the target neighborhoods of Dorchester, East Boston, Hyde Park, Mattapan, and Roxbury. Congratulations to all the students! The students will continue in the Upward Bound afterschool program starting in mid-September, where they will receive tutoring from college students and take courses in MCAS prep and SAT prep.
