Boston Among Healthiest Housing Markets in America

WalletHub recently looked at 300 cities across the country for its "2015's Healthiest Housing Markets" report.

The housing industry is prospering. Boston is among the healthiest housing markets in the country.

That’s according to a recent study conducted by WalletHub. The financial website’s staff looked at 300 cities for its 2015 Healthiest Housing Markets report. Rankings were based on 14 metrics, including population sizes, median home-price appreciation, foreclosure rate, population growth and job growth, among many others.

When the numbers were crunched, Boston received a ranking of 59 out of 300.

Boston’s categorical rankings were as follows:

  • “Real Estate Market” rank: 40
  • “Affordability and Economic Environment” rank: 263

Worcester, Fall River, and Lowell were among some local areas ranked below Boston.

Frisco, Allen and Arvada rounded out the top three healthiest housing markets in the country.
