At about 7:57 PM on Wednesday April 7, 2021, an officer assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) was on patrol in the area of 3064 Washington Street in Roxbury when his vehicle was struck by a small metal pellet believed to have been fired by a BB gun. The pellet struck the officer’s left forearm after causing damage to the driver’s side window and rain guard. Upon exiting his cruiser, the officer observed three individuals on an upper balcony of the BHA Walnut Park Apartments building located at 1990 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury.

During two recent incidents, another officer was nearly struck by a BB pellet while responding to a call in the area at about 8:00 PM on Thursday March 25, 2021, while an adult male victim was struck several times at about 10:20 PM on Friday March 26, 2021, causing non-life-threatening injuries. During both incidents, the parties involved indicated that the shots had come from an upper balcony of 1990 Columbus Avenue.
Additionally, members of the MBTA Police Department have documented two additional incidents which appear to be similar in nature.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding these incidents and is asking anyone with information relative to these investigations to contact detectives assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) at (617) 343-5628.  Â
