BRA Approves New Apartments in Jamaica Plain
The Boston Redevelopment Authority Approved a new 47-apartment building project in Jamaica Plain

This past Thursda, thhe Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) approved the General Heath Square Apartments, a joint venture of Jamaica Plain NDC and Back of the Hill CDC.
It will be a 47-unit apartment building at a site on Heath and Bromley streets that is currently vacant lots. According to the BRA, the project is 56,290 square feet and will cost $17,400,000.
The building will have a mix of units, including one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments. Two-thousand square feet of the project will be for community and office space, including covered bicycle and car parking spaces.

Eighteen units will be designated for families earning less than or equal to 30% of the area median income, or approximately $30,000 for family of four. Sixteen units will be reserved for project based Section 8 or Mass Housing Voucher holders, according to the BRA.
