Bromley-Heath Homes Get a New Name
The complex was renamed after housing leader Mildred Hailey.

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA - Welcome to the neighborhood, Mildred C. Hailey Apartments.
The longtime Bromley-Heath complex was rebranded in memory of the director of the Bromley Heath Tenant Management Corporation, who passed away from cancer last November, according to the Jamaica Plain News.
On Wednesday families from the apartments joined Mayor Marty Walsh and William McGonagle, interim administrator of the Boston Redevelopment Authority, as the apartments were officially renamed to honor Hailey.

Hailey was known for her tenacity and fearlessness in providing for the tenants of Bromley-Heath, even in the face of adversity from city officials.
Walsh said at the ceremony that at Hailey's memorial service, McGonagle asked him to rename the complex in her memory, the Jamaica Plain News reported.

Hailey died on November 18 at the age of 82.
