Closed: La Rana Rosa Pizza and Cafe in JP

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA — The Bakery and cafe by day Pizza place by night, La Rana Rossa has closed.

"We are closed permanently as of Saturday, June 17," the restaurant's voice mail message says. "You can always find us at the Blue Frog Bakery located at 3 Green Street. We have loved being part of the community and hope to see you at the Blue Frog Bakery."

A post on the Rossa's Facebook page dated June 2, announced that the restaurant would be closing for good. Posts prior to that announced scaled back hours.

Chef Brad Brown, owner of the Blue Frog on Green Street for the past 14 years has shut the door on the space named the Red Frog in Italian. The space that once held Cafe Bartlett Square, at the intersection of Green and Amory streets across from the Green Street MBTA station has a "For Lease" sign in the window.

The owners posted to Facebook that there still might be pizza pop ups from time to time at the Blue Frog Bakery - similar to the days before La Rana Rossa became a full restaurant and cafe.
