Demolition Started at $90M Jamaica Plain Housing Development
The project is slated for occupancy in spring 2016.

Demolition has started on The Commons at Forest Hills Station, a $90 million, 283-unit midmarket apartment complex in Jamaica Plain.
The Boston Business Journal reported that the building is located on a 2.8-acre site at 3593-3615 Washington St. just up from the Forest Hills public transit stop in Jamaica Plain.
The project may assist in completing Mayor Walsh’s Boston 2030 plan.

The 283-unit complex will include 35 studios, 108 one-bedroom units, 86 two-bedroom units, 14 three-bedroom units and 40 affordable units.Rent for a two-bedroom unit at The Commons will average $2,650.
The property will have 180 parking spots and 250 bike parking spots, as well as 5,000 square feet of retail space and a marketing office.
