Dirtiest Play You'll Ever See? College Suspends, Bars Player
A video of a Fitchburg State player decking another player with his elbow has the sports world shaking its head.
FITCHBURG, MA — There are dirty plays in college basketball. Then there is whatever happened during a Div. 3 men's game in Massachusetts Tuesday night.
A video of a Fitchburg State player throwing a flying elbow into the face of a Nicholls player had the sports world shaking its head Wednesday.
Nicholls guard Nate Tenaglia shot a 3-pointer late in the Bisons' 84-75 victory. Once he released the ball, Fitchburg's Kewan Platt ran toward him, appeared to see if a referee was looking, and unloaded a vicious elbow into Tenaglia's face.

Another referee who saw the cheap shot ejected Platt before any confrontations took place between the teams.
Tenaglia, a sophomore from Tewksbury, then gathered himself and shot two free throws. He finished with 11 points.

Fitchburg suspended Platt indefinitely and barred him from campus. He was not on the team's online roster Wednesday morning.
"The Fitchburg State community is appalled by the conduct displayed during Tuesday night’s home basketball game," the school tweeted.
Platt, 22, is from Jamaica Plain and was the MVP of Charlestown High his senior season, scoring 1,000 points for the Townies.
Fitchburg coach Titus Manderson didn't immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.
Nicholls coach Scott Faucher told Yahoo Sports he wasn't sure why Platt would attack Tenaglia.
"There wasn’t really anything before that, any incidents," he said.
