Donate Blood, Receive Free Ice Cream at Faulkner Hospital

Jamaica Plain, MA – Faulkner Hospital is hosting a blood drive later this month, and those who donate will receive a J.P. Licks coupon for one free ice cream cone.

Pretty sweet deal, right?

The blood drive will be held aboard the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women's Hospital Blood Mobile July 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh more than 110 pounds and be in good general health and feel well the day of donation.

In preparing to donate, participants must drink extra water the day before and of donation, eat prior to donation and bring a photo ID, according to Faulkner Hospital.

In addition, there are restrictions on those who have chronic medical conditions, are on antibiotics, have had recent dental work done, have tattoos or body piercings and have lived or traveled outside of the country. Click here for more information on those restrictions.

The Blood Mobile will be stationed at the third floor Hillside entrance at the rear of the hospital.
