Filmmakers Shooting 'Ghostbusters' Recreation in Boston

Crews will begin filming a recreation of the hit movie “Ghostbusters” in Boston this week, the Boston Herald reports. The reboot, starring Melissa McCarthy, will feature a cast comprised of all females.

In addition to McCarthy, Kristen Wig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will act in the film. According to the Herald, McCarthy and Wig ultimately end up teaming up to lead group in a battle against the infamous ghosts.

The film takes place in Manhattan, but oddly enough is being filmed in Boston.

Rumor has it that the film crew plans to close off a section of Boston’s financial district for three nights to shoot an extravagant ghost invasion scene.

One can only hope Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray return for an unexpected guest appearance.
