Itsy Bitsy Consignment Event to Be the Biggest Yet

Annual event is this weekend, March 28 and 29.

Looking for great deals on children’s toys, books, furniture, accessories, and honestly anything your child may need? Look no further than Itsy Bitsy Thrifty’s semi-annual event happening this weekend in Billerica and this year’s event is proving to be the biggest yet!

Created by Ann Marie Palmer and James Fedas seven years ago as a solution to the common parenting dilemma— what to do with children’s toy, clothes and gear when a child outgrows them—this year’s event is taking things to the next level in quality, as well as quantity of items available.

This year’s event is set for Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, and shoppers can expect to shop through nearly 24,000 items at this weekend’s event.

Last year the pair opened a year-round boutique, simply because their customers wanted more. Momentum from that boutique, as well as years of holding these events is making the Itsy Bitsy Thrifty Consignment Event bigger and better than ever.

“With the momentum from our year-round boutique and running these events the past six years we’ve had a huge increase in merchandise,” Fedas says. “And that increase in merchandise means more real, high quality merchandise. This year we have tons of awesome baby gear, outdoor toys and more, as well as top brands like crewcuts from J.Crew, Mini Boden, Hanna Andersson, Janie & Jack, Gymboree, and everything in between.”

The event takes place in 5,000 square feet right next door to the Itsy Bitsy Boutique located inside Brick Kiln Plaza (99 Chelmsford Road) in Billerica.

Doors open to the public for the spring event on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 from 8 a.m. to noon. On Sunday, shoppers will find many items available at 50 percent off.

The Itsy Bitsy event benefits Children’s Hospital Boston, donating 25 percent of all new registrations to Children’s Hospital, and consignors can donate a percentage of their total profits to their fundraising efforts. Funds raised help defer medical costs of patients whose families can’t afford care to purchase essential medical equipment, support pediatric research and provide training for the next generation of pediatricians.

The twice-annual event is held in partnership with Cradles to Crayons, a local organization that assists children in need. At the end of the sale weekend, consignors have the option to have all items not sold donated to the organization
