Jamaica Plain Among 'Coolest' Boston Neighborhoods
According to real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield's "Cool Streets" report, JP was one of Boston's hippest 'hoods.
Jamaica Plain, MA – Move over, Fonzie. Jamaica Plain is the new cool in town.
The neighborhood was one of four hotspots to be named Boston's coolest neighborhoods, according to a June report from commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.
The report dubbed Jamaica Plain, Allston, Brighton and Somerville's Davis Square the hippest 'hoods in the Boston area based on a number of factors, including walkability, bicycle friendliness, public transportation access, food, music, art, nightlife and percentage of residents ages 20 to 34 years old.

Based on its scores, Jamaica Plain was dubbed "Edgy cool, but in its infancy."
Cushman & Wakefield evaluated neighborhoods in cities all across the country, though none of the Boston areas cracked the top 10. However, Jamaica Plain residents can take solace in the fact that they live in one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city.
