Jamaica Plain is Boston's Hottest Housing Market

The average home for sale in Jamaica Plain spends just seven days on the market.

A home on the market in Boston takes an average of 44 days before it is sold, according to the latest real estate figures released by the Greater Boston Association of Realtors.

Depending on the neighborhood, some pieces of property are sold within a week. Many others are sold in just over a weeks’ time.

Boston.com recently took a look at the neighborhoods with lowest time spent on the market. According to their findings, a home in Jamaica Plain spends an average of seven days on the market with a median sale price of $510,000.

Homes in the South End and Newtonville followed with an average of seven days on the market as well. The South End had an average sale price of $800,000. Newtonville came with an average price of $766,500.
